About Hope On A Mission

Restoring Dignity with Love and Grace

Hope On A Mission (HOAM) is a street outreach ministry dedicated to restoring dignity, with love and grace, to homeless and addicted women and men in Poughkeepsie, NY, and beyond. Through compassionate acts at our Pop-up Provisions events, we provide support to those in need with hot meals, bottled water, clean, dry clothing, personal hygiene items, and most importantly, human connection.

Our goal is to serve with relationship, community, and acceptance, meeting individuals exactly where they are—no matter their past, struggles, or circumstances.

Hope On A Mission volunteers serving the community

Our Mission

To restore dignity through love and grace by building genuine, compassionate relationships that make a lasting difference.

Our Community

A dedicated team of volunteers serving with compassion every week through Pop-up Provisions events.

Our Approach

Meeting people where they are with no questions, no judgment—just love, grace, and compassion.

Our Work

Every week, our volunteers gather in Poughkeepsie to provide meals, clothing, and personal hygiene items to individuals experiencing homelessness and addiction. We hold Pop-up Provisions events on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday evenings, as well as Saturday mornings, where we serve hot meals, distribute essential items, and build relationships with those in need.

No questions, no judgment—just love, grace, and compassion.

In addition to direct support, we provide referrals to local agencies, offering assistance with detox, rehab, and other services that help improve the circumstances of those we serve. We are also committed to accompanying individuals to these agencies, ensuring that they have the resources and support they need to begin a new chapter in their lives.

A Message from Our Founder

HOAM was founded by CaraMia Bacchiochi, whose own journey of recovery from addiction led her to create a ministry that would serve women and men who had experienced similar struggles. After years of personal reflection and treatment, CaraMia was inspired to start a program focused on giving hope to others in the midst of their challenges.

What began with a few pairs of flip-flops and a case of water has grown into a thriving ministry that serves hundreds of people every week.

"My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you."

— John 15:12-13

Hope On A Mission continues to expand its reach, bringing love, compassion, and practical support to those in need. Whether we're serving meals, offering prayers, or simply sitting with someone in their time of crisis, our mission remains the same: to restore dignity, one life at a time, with love and grace.
